About
It's All Connected. Skylar Burton.

Nothing profound is coming to mind (probably because I watched the news this morning and now, I'm staring out the window with a cup of tea, and I might be rolling my eyes) so let's keep it simple. Bottom line, I have a low threshold for boredom and zero tolerance for bullshit. However, I've learned to live with bullshit, so sometimes I STFU.

My desk is literally covered with notepads and Post-it notes on which are reminders, ideas, random thoughts, grocery lists, questions for aliens, politicians, AI, and fave musicians, should I ever meet one (doubtful, but I'm prepared). There's just one problem though, most of the time they're illegible. I scribble so fast I can't read my own writing. This concerns me because I might be missing an important piece of information I have for myself like when I walk out to the kitchen and forget why. And no, this isn't a getting old thing, it's an always been like this thing.

That sums up why I'm here. I have done a lot of writing. I've created a lot of things and started a couple of businesses. I was a VP of marketing for a tech company, manufactured and sold a few children's products, and created the first online website about the history of computing. I am also an explorer and have done many road trips including a 2-year one towing a trailer around the country. I've written a few books, was a gallery represented artist and most recently traveled three continents stalking attending the concerts of a singer-songwriter I admire (totally normal). I also wrote a book about him—and yes, there’s another one in process about his former band and the dark side of the music industry that created it. Stay tuned.

On these pages there is an assortment. I've been around a while, so let's just say this is more like my third rodeo, so lots to rant about. So, below is what you will find, but you'll have to dig around. I've tried to organize it the best I can.

Scribbles: Various stories. Anything that doesn't fit into the other categories.

Trailer Chronicles: Everything from the 2-year road trip towing a trailer including how, what, why, tips, recipes, guides, etc.

Jet Lag: Other travel, work related, random rants

Unzipped: 18+ Mostly tame, occasionally wild - 2-3 chili pepper hot

Verse: Short stories and poetry. Art. Some from other people.

Merch: Art and objects. Some free digital downloads, too. P.S. If you need a gift for a new mother, check out my pattern for the shopping cart seat I designed, manufactured, and sold years ago.

If that sounds intriguing, stick around, subscribe, join the newsletter, or help maintain my coffee addiction by becoming a member. Hugs!
