Are you on social media?

The Instagram link is in the top menu but I'm other places as well:
I favor Instagram and Bluesky. I'm also on Twitter (X) but don't spend much time there anymore. I also post or repost some things on Medium and I have a Substack account that I haven't done much with yet, but I will. I also have YouTube channel that I haven't used much but I plan to use it more.

Do you use the em dash, ellipse and two spaces after a sentence?

Oh god yes! There’s a heated punctuation summit happening in my head every time I type… Gen-Z in their pixel-perfect world swears ellipses are passive-aggressive, but to me they’re the drumroll before the punchline, the breath you take when you realize the story’s about to get good. It’s suspense, pure and simple. And the em dash? Oh, that’s modern art in text form—five commas strung together to say, “Hold on, I’ve got something important to add." I’ll sprinkle them like confetti through every sentence I fancy. And 2-spaces after? Of course. Why did ‘they’ ever say that was wrong?

Do you write in cursive?

Sometimes I write cursive. This is apparently a skill now, like being able to drive a manual transmission or recognizing a glitch in the Matrix (I can do that too!)! The other day my son peeked over my shoulder and asked, “Why are you writing in cursive? I can’t read it.” Excuse me? I realize my handwriting is more like interpretive dance on paper—messy, hybrid, and occasionally indecipherable even to me. But here in the digital realm, I’ll spare you the loop-de-loops and stick to plain print.

Do you use swear words and acronyms?

Fuck, yes. I have a fondness for the frequent occasional swear word. A well-placed “fuck that” can do more for comedic timing than a dozen sanitized euphemisms ever could. I use profanity like hot sauce: sparingly, deliberately, and only when a sentence genuinely calls for that extra kick. After all, this is grown-up territory—no nursery rhymes here, but you are welcome to print and redact before you read. And acronyms?  Yes, there are some that I love including OG, fave, and def and will use with reckless abandon.

Do all your stories have happy endings?

How many happy endings do you know? Those are for fairy tales and the Lifetime Channel. But, so I don’t make everyone cry, I will try, and yes there are some.

Do you sometimes remove or edit posts... why?

Sometimes I'll look back at something I wrote and realize it was never really meant for a large audience.  Sometimes I realize I was wrong about something or that it contained information that might hurt someone. Many of the stories here are true or at least fundamentally true and I often change the names and locations. When you write about your life, you inevitably come up against the problem of how much you should reveal about yourself and the other characters—the people who don't have a say in how they are framed by my words. I can be as ruthless as I'd like with myself because I know that I'm okay with it, but I have to be aware that the other characters in my stories aren't necessarily comfortable with the same treatment.

Is your work copyrighted?  Can I repost it?

My stories, digital downloads, and art are copyrighted, but as long as you attribute your use correctly (with a link to the source of the material), we should be fine. Problems only arise when you use my work in a way that suggests you're trying to pass it off as your own.
